TASTY

A journey between
the forms and colours of taste

It is possible to travel and ‘eat your way’ through the Val d’Orcia where the experience is always deep, authentic and multisensory.

In the landscape of the Val d'Orcia, between the hills and the stones of rural houses, there are typical products, authentic and genuine flavours that tell a story of respect for the land and the seasonal rhythms, together with a food and wine tradition where simplicity is the secret of everything that is good.

Val d'Orcia is a land for the taste buds, with food that excites your eyes even before your palate. It does it with the parallel rows where grapes ripen and slowly the preparations start for the new vintage of Brunello DOCG and DOC Orcia, wines of excellence whose fame is known all over the world. International films and novels have celebrated the exquisiteness of these Tuscan products and those from Val d’Orcia, spreading the news about their immense quality. The wine cellars, guardians of secrets and large barrels, open their doors to tours, tastings and experiences in the heart of the wine production.

The wild herbs and flowers growing in the fields scent the air and honey, perfect to eat with traditional cheeses, that enrich the unmissable platters, which together with premium salamis honour the table.

Saffron on the other hand, tells a different story, made of wealth, wellbeing, and happiness: this spice is still a symbol of refinement and with the magic of its coloured flowers adds to the dishes the yellow of the sun and a delicate and precious flavour.

The perfumes of white truffle and new oil are enticing, with the latter being the main ingredient spread on the typical Tuscan bread, while the sweetness of chestnuts accompanies the autumnal days at the feet of Mount Amiata.

To discover Val d'Orcia is to immerse yourself in its flavours, to take part in its festivals, fairs and events that animate the villages and towns; it is here that the markets display the products of the land, the result of a short supply chain that protects taste and genuineness.
The flavours of this land embrace all the senses and are the main element of unmissable experiences of taste, those that stay in one’s mind and hold on to time passing by.
